Shared React Component Library (RCL) for Dubai Government Platforms
Shared React component library built for Dubai Government platforms to unify the design system across multiple services, accelerating delivery and enforcing consistent, accessible UI standards.
The Problem
Dubai Government product teams were independently rebuilding similar UI components, leading to inconsistent experiences, duplicated logic, and increased maintenance overhead. This was slowing down delivery and increasing maintenance costs.
The Solution
Created a centralized, government-grade component library with strict architectural and accessibility standards, enabling teams to reuse components confidently and consistently. This has significantly reduced duplicated UI development and increased maintainability.
What I Built
- Designed and built a shared React component library for Dubai Government platforms
- Standardized UI behavior, layout patterns, and interaction models across multiple government services
- Embedded accessibility standards directly into components to ensure WCAG-aligned behavior by default
- Enabled faster feature delivery by providing documented, reusable building blocks that can be used across multiple teams
- Supported multiple teams through mentorship, reviews, and clear contribution guidelines
Impact
Reduced duplicated UI development across Dubai Government platforms, improved consistency and accessibility across services, and accelerated delivery by providing a shared, reliable frontend foundation adopted by multiple teams. This has significantly reduced maintenance costs and increased maintainability and scalability.
